Our NameThe Phoenix is a symbol that represents a message. A message of that which was dead, rising from death to life. Sadly...death is the condition of mankind if he remains in unbelief toward Jesus Christ. Rising from death to life is also the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Believing that Jesus is who He said He is (God) and that He can do what He promised (make a way for us to stand in righteousness before the Holy and Perfect Father), we repent of our old sinful nature and live for Him, as we look forward to the time when our Lord will return in Glory to triumph over evil and make all things new.

Our Calling to Ministry
The Phoenix Rising Outreach Ministry is the culmination of many years of God's Spirit working in the heart, mind and spirit of our founders, Donna & Marc Russert. As God showed us His constant Protection, Grace, Provision, Discipline, Mercy, Understanding and Love...we began to realize that everything in our life was a result of His care and not the result of our own prideful accomplishments. From the protection of our marriage, to the raising of our children, to the health and wellness we enjoyed, to the jobs we were blessed to have, to the home that sheltered us, to the loving family and solid Christian family we are blessed to have as well. All of those things were in His plan for our lives. These were not the only things that God so graciously allowed us to experience though. Difficult marital times, difficult experiences with our children, challenging relationships, severe health issues, loss of income and near bankruptcy. We count every one of these life experiences as blessing. They have made us who we are as individuals, as a family and as followers of Christ.
Having gone through all of our adult life as unchurched people, God led us back to Him, through the influence of several Godly Christians. Long story - short...The Holy Spirit convicted us of our sinfulness, graciously gave us the gift of Godly sorrow, leading us to repentance and opened our hearts to His forgiveness and ultimate salvation. As a result, we began to study His Word diligently. We learned that everything in life - what we perceive as good or perceive as bad...has purpose and meaning. It is all preparation for what God is doing through His body to bring about His perfect plan in the world.
In 2008, after about 10 years of following Jesus (studying His word and seeking His face), we were led by the Holy Spirit to more actively live our lives for the glory of God. Our emphasis is to effectively and Biblically deliver the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Over the years, we have found God to be faithful, just, merciful and full of grace. He is also creative and His plans are not always as we expect. Our prayer is to be obedient to His call. We're enjoying the adventure and hope to see you along the way!

Our Credentials & Affiiliation with Star Vision Ministries
Phoenix Rising Outreach is a ministry of Branch of the Lord Church. This ministry is overseen by Donna & Marc Russert, and holds a Charter from Star Vision Ministries. Donna Russert has earned personal ministry credentials through Star Vision Ministries and served for one year on their Board of Directors as Director of Education & Training.
Our Organizational Structure
Most of the ministries listed on this website are ministries of Branch of the Lord Church which is a Christian Church established outside of the yoke of "INCORPORATED" 501c 3 Status. We have chosen instead, to adhere to the original pattern of church acknowledgement followed for more than 150 years in the United States of America, as established in the Constitution. This ministry is established as a church based on the guidelines obtained from Official IRS Publications and the counsel of Certified IRS Representatives. As members of the Body of Christ (which is THE Church), we have chosen to accept the God-given and the Constitutional right to establish this ministry as part of a church and therefore be afforded all the rights of that establishment.
